Podunk Town

I was trying to take a picture of this dog that amazingly didn't fall off of this truck-- and I ended up taking another picture I wanted as well.
We really do live in a podunk town-- there's nothing besides houses. Off of Mt. Lindesay Highway, Cedar Vale is on the left and another town called Cedar Grove is on the right. I just think it's funny how sometimes you see these big signs saying 'Welcome to ....': and then here we are with our teeny tiny sign (you'll have to enlarge the picture to see it). Jimboomba has a better welcoming sign-- maybe I'll have to try to get a picture of that.
This is how I think of it: I live in an Australian St. David (minus the Tiger Mart), Jimboomba is Benson, Brown's Plains is Tucson, and the Gold Coast is the whole Phoenix area. How depressing. That's it-- I'm moving to the Gold Coast!
I'm pretty sure Australians like to have tons of tiny towns just so they can have something to name. They have towns like we have subdivisions.

I just read some of your older posts - the modesty one, the nits, and the h20. I didn't know if you'd look for comments that far down. I think your new exeperiences are all very fantastic! I'm jealous that you get to find out all of those wonderful things about the world. Keep sharing, so I can get a taste of something OUTSIDE of MY little "Podunk Town". Love ya girl!
