Another Saturday

Today we had to go get photos done with Jason's family. I really don't want to talk much about it (that will be yet another memory I'll have to block), but no joke at all: the worst photographer in America could be the best one here. Enough said.

Tonight we went to Jason's cousin's birthday party. It was her 21st and that's a big birthday here. (I don't know why it's such a big deal because you can drink here at 18-- and most of Jason's family aren't members, so they definitely drink {like most Australians}.) But we had fun. We saw lots of family that we hadn't seen since our wedding (10 years ago). They had a live band (a one man band-- ha ha, that sounds funny, but he played the guitar, sang, and used his laptop and speakers for the rest). He had strobe lights too, which my kids just loved. They're probably going to go blind from watching them so close, and deaf from the big speakers.

I know these pictures suck-- but I only had my small camera.

-Penny and Sam hanging out with Uncle Peter (Jason's next younger brother).
-Penny with her twin, Aunt Rachel (Jason's only sister).
-Jason's cousin dancing with the little kids. You can see Jason's mum in the pink shirt on the left. Sam is being a goofball on the right.
-More of Sam being a goofball.

This is Sam sitting on Jason's mum's dad's lap (got it?). Sitting next to him in the light blue is Jason's mum's mum. Next to her is her friend (no they're not lesbians although they do everything together). Standing up is Jason's grandfather's wife, who used to be Jason's nan's best friend. How scandalous.

WTF? I'm trying really hard to follow that... but it's not clicking. Is it the ladies were best friends and then the one married the guy after her friend divorced him? HUH? What am I talking about... seriously. What's going on?? Phew, ok. LOL

nan and glenda (the one standing) were best friends. glenda's husband died. then jason's grandfather hooked up with glenda when he was sent over to see if she needed any help. sorry, does that make more sense?
