Step Brothers

As you may or may not know, my 7 year old Thomas goes to a year-round school. In fact, I think all schools in Australia are year-round. Right now he's on a two week break. So Nan and Grandad took the kids out today. Penny and Sam are sleeping in their beds right now, but Thomas got to stay out and go camping for the night. (We all miss him: at prayer Penny told us to call Thomas and tell him to come home. Okay, here I go again with my dang honesty: Penny's not actually in her bed, she's in ours because she said she's too scared without Thomas here.)

Anyway-- back to my point. Because the kids were taken care of today, Jason and I decided to take advantage of our freedom. Well, I kind of talked Jason into ditching half a day of work to watch a movie with me. We were meeting in Brown's Plains (Australian Tucson-- a hole {no offence Gretch-- keep in mind I live in the Australian St. David-- no offence Melissa, Erin and Wendy}) for insurance junk. *On a side note: I now have my Medicare card which means I can go to the doctor for free! Woo hoo! Jason has always been free and the kids have recently become free since they are now officially American/Australian citizens.

Holy cow I keep going off on tangents (is that really how you spell that word? The spell check didn't say different). Anyway-- so after we were done with our business, I showed Jason a brand new packet of Mint Slices (yummy cookies) that I had hidden in my bag (no I didn't steal them, this was a premeditated move), and I told him I'd share them with him if he came to a movie with me. I was hoping Batman was still playing, but nope. I'm actually glad it wasn't showing because I went with my youngest brother's advice to see Step Brothers. I'll admit right now that it's not a movie that everyone would like. They did use the F word quite a lot. But still, Jason and I were absolutely cracking up the whole time! I kept covering my mouth up because not everyone else was laughing. I couldn't help it-- just crude hilarious humor. I wish to heck that Zack could've been right there with us. Thanks for suggesting it Zack.

On yet another side note: I already knew most of the lines in the movie because Zack practically told me the whole thing after he saw it. Not that I'm complaining-- I was glad he did so then it could sink in twice. (How is it that guys can see a movie once and have it memorized?) I remember one time after my folks had gone on a date and saw Groundhog Day-- my step Dad did the same thing as Zack: practically told us the whole movie! And it's not just that he told us a ton of the lines, but it was how he was covering his mouth to stop from laughing just by remembering it! Like father like son.

So bottom line: if you're a closet sinner (thanks for that term Erin) like I am-- you'll probably like this movie.

I'm a closet sinner too...wait. No...more like an out-of-the-closet sinner. LOL This movie sounds hilarious! We'll have to see it.

Somehow or another I haven't heard anything about this movie. I love laugh-hard movies. I also love your tangents (you're right, that doesn't look right) It helps us see more of what's going on in your head - love it!

I heard that was funny. May have to rent it some night when the kids are to bed early and me and Zach aren't too exhausted! I love Will Ferrell!

I know I already talked to you on the phone about this, but thought I should leave a comment on your blog as well. I just was soooo excited that you and Jason got to go out by yourself to see a movie. I think you chose wisely since I think needed a good laugh! Batman was an awesome movie as well, but I think you guys just needed a good laugh. I'm sure Nathan would have liked it more if he would have seen it with you. You always seem to make any movie funny - your laugh is so contagious. Oh and I just died laughing trying to imagine Zack relaying the movie word by word to you - boys are so funny!
