This present was sent by my Aunt Cindy. She sent a gift for me and Penny, separately wrapped, inside another package. So we opened it up, and when Penny saw the cute ribbons and bag, she just had to open it then-- even though her birthday wasn't for several days. She was just thrilled when she saw a beautiful gem butterfly necklace. And as if that wasn't enough, Penny was so happy that Aunt Cindy also sent her a box and some pretend cheese (that's what she called the cotton in the box). Thank you Aunt Cindy! I can't wait to open mine now!
We usually go to Chili's for birthdays-- so we can get the chocolate molten cake. But *end of the world* they don't have Chili's here. So we settled for another American restaurant: Lone Star Steak House. We've never even been there in America, but we thought we'd give it a go here. Ya, I seriously doubt we'll ever go back. But the kids loved it, and that's what counts. And we're cheapskates, so we went on Monday night (even though her birthday was Tuesday) because kids eat free then.
Believe it or not, I left out a bunch of these pictures. Penny was being so silly! I didn't even tell her to do any faces, I just wanted a picture of her with the restaurant in the background. I've never seen her more excited. She just couldn't wait for those girls to come sing to her. They sang to at least 6 other people before coming to Penny. She was pretty good up till that point-- but after that she was just silly!

Happy Birthday Allison!!! I hope you have or have had a great "birthday week!" Your little girl sure is cute. She looks a lot like her mom! Anyway....sure is strange sometimes to think how we just grew up right across the fence from each other and now you are in Australia. Remember how we used to call each other and "meet at the bars," good times! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Oh we love our Penny Girl!!! She has such personality. We went to Chili's in your honor for our Anniversary and Abby wanted them to sing to her knowing it was her birthday coming up and she was so excited but when they came and clapped and started singing she got really shy. Can we say TOTAL opposites??? Too funny. Happy Birthday Allison & Penny!!! We love and miss you guys.
A whole week for a birthday? How fun! We have done a few weekends and that gets exhausting. I can't imagine a week. The kids love it for sure looking at your pictures:)
How appropriate that you chose the Lone Star Restaurant to celebrate. Are you trying to tell me you miss TX? :o)
